The role

A problem isn't truly solved until it's solved for all. That's why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish - working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

As a Spend Manager, you will lead the development and maintenance of operational-level financial reporting, governance of spend health metrics, and the continuous improvement of financial dashboards. By identifying cost drivers, outliers, and opportunities for efficiency, you will directly influence program outcomes and help scale the spend team's impact. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners and foster an environment of data-driven decision-making and financial accuracy. You will serve as a strategic partner to cross-functional stakeholders, transforming complex spend data into actionable insights that drive decision-making and optimization.

In gTech Users and Products (gUP), our mission is to advocate for Google's users by creating helpful and trusted experiences across the product ecosystem. We achieve this by meeting partners and consumers where they are with support and help, representing their needs with our product partners and proposing fixes and features that elevate their engagement with Google's diverse product ecosystem. Additionally we provide a range of product services that ensure our products are optimized for every user, no matter where they are in the world (e.g., localization, digitization, partner integration and more).

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

What you'll do

  • Maintain and scale spend reporting dashboards, prioritize enhancements, govern health metrics, and train stakeholders on key financial terminology.
  • Develop detailed operational reports and deliver monthly/quarterly financial summaries highlighting trends, variances, and optimization opportunities across gUP.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses on spend data to uncover cost drivers, identify outliers, and transition ad-hoc reports into centralized dashboards.
  • Partner with the broader Operations and Finance teams to understand their financial needs and deliver data-driven insights that support decision-making.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives and broader financial projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and optimizing the team's footprint.
